“As someone truly passionate about good design and its ability to enhance our lives, I draw inspiration from a number of sources, from fashion, retrospective designs, and the natural landscape, to the clean, bold lines of modern architecture. Pivotal to my design ethos is the ability to harmonise materials, eras, styles and colours to create unique liveable spaces. I am fastidious about details and thrive on continuously expanding my knowledge and design vocabulary.
While I enjoy seeing my own ideas come to life, I always take time to listen to my clients and incorporate their thoughts into my designs, ensuring they feel connected to their space.” Christopher Elliott

Christopher Elliott
Principal Designer

Drawing on 20 years’ experience in a range of artistic mediums, Christopher Elliott launched his eponymous design service in 2005 from his home studio in Melbourne. Catering to an appetite for boutique design quality with concept-to-completion service, Christopher immediately established a reputation for timeless modern designs with precise, detailed execution. Since those nascent days, Christopher Elliott Design has flourished, creating a series of bold and inspired designs that are attracting both local and international attention. Christopher Elliott Design accommodates a wide range of projects, modifying the design process and management services as required.

Working with an established network of building and industry professionals, Christopher maintains a seamless schedule — one that accommodates a rigorous set of standards and quality controls, in accordance with his holistic approach to interior design. Christopher finds inspiration in the world around him. From the clean, bold lines in modern architecture; to retrospective designs; to fashion runways; to technology and the natural world; he is constantly working on expanding his knowledge of architecture and design. His unique ability to harmonise materials, eras, styles and colours, allows Christopher to create inspiring living spaces, with a natural geometry that sets his work apart.

Kurt Taylor
Project Design Coordinator

In recent years, Christopher Elliott Design has undergone significant expansion, necessitating the role of an assistant who could work autonomously and adapt to the ever-changing requirements of a successful design studio. So, during the final stages of a ‘Bachelor of Engineering’ majoring in ‘Product Design’, Kurt Taylor began his employment with Christopher Elliott Design, bringing with him a sharp intellect and systematic approach. These skills and his natural aptitude for efficiency ensured Kurt a vital role within the progressive design studio.

Kurt’s passion lies in multidisciplinary aspects of design, honouring a holistic perspective on both processes and outcomes. This unique outlook and his competent abilities provide Christopher with the support and framework for further business development and evolution of the design studio.

Sarah Chesterfield
Interior Architect
Sarah is the latest addition to the accomplished team at Christopher Elliott Design. With the ever increasing demand for Interior Architecture design services, Sarah was an appropriate choice for the role. She completed a ‘Bachelor of Architecture’ in 2013, to then land a dynamic role with a major furniture importer and retailer, gaining valuable experience in furniture, decoration and product styling. This experience was an opportunity for Sarah to further develop her design skills with a better understanding of interiors, something that put her in good stead when she applied for the position at Christopher Elliott Design, coupled with her fastidious and exacting eye for detail.

Sarah admires clean, contemporary minimalist design and is very partial to a monochromatic palette, something that she has become known for. That being said; working at Christopher Elliott Design is showing her how to appreciate the use of bold colour.
