The Portsea project involved the refurbishment of a cottage house intended as a beach house retreat. The inherent architecture imposed limitations and offered very little natural light. The entire interior, including floors and walls, were painted white to create a clean backdrop, reflect the available light, and provide the appearance of a sun-drenched space.
To create points of interest amongst the sea of white, characteristically coastal furniture utilising natural fibres and a collection of ethnic objects were selected for the room. The result was a dramatic transformation, featuring in Home Beautiful magazine.
